What a nice break from City Life

Over the New Year we needed to get out of the hustle and bustle of Cape Town City Centre. Our apartment is next to a very busy main road, noise levels are bad. The building itself is noisy, I can hear people from 2 floors down, in a nutshell - we don't like it very much.

Why do we live there you may ask...THAT is another story!

But the reason for this entry is to punt a little place called Monte Rosa Guest House in Rawsonville!

An awesome place to get away from everything! Just a perfect place to relax.
Our hosts were Rolf and Laura von Rudiger.
The setting is “The elegant homestead takes you back to an era of brookielace-stoeps, Oregon wood shutters & floors and is situated in a peaceful park like garden” - http://www.monterosa.co.za/accommodation.php

Our room was very comfortable. With all the regular bells and whistles, Comfy bed with quality bedding, air conditioning in the room. Spacious bathroom with shower and a lovely “lounge area”.

We were hoping to get away from the city, and that is exactly what we got! Only sounds outside were a few guineafowl. We awoke in the mornings with the sounds of a rooster crowing in the distance.

Breakfasts was scrumptious! Served with a smile and a good cup of coffee.

Rolf and Laura were very helpful in booking a table for us at a local restaurant. Rolf knows the Breede River area very well and could direct us in the right way for our daily excursions.
If you ever need to get away from Cape Town City life, or you are travelling in that area, pay a vitit to Monte Rosa Guest House. You will not regret it.
